Morphosis, alongside partners FGV EAESP, Itaúsa, The Paulson Institute, and Basilinna, officially launched The Rise of the Adaptation Economy in São Paulo this week.
Unveiled at The Rise of the Adaptation Economy: From Financing Gap to Investment Arena, an event co-hosted with Bloomberg LP, the report and suite of associated technical papers brings together perspectives from finance, policy, and development to explore how to unlock investment in adaptation at scale.
Approaching adaptation from the demand side, the report introduces the Adaptation Economy Policy Framework - a practical blueprint for aligning public policy, private capital, and inclusive prosperity. By focusing on market design and investment incentives, the framework sets out the conditions required to build economies that can thrive in a climate-impacted world.
The launch event featured presentations from Morphosis’ Jennifer Blanke and discussions with Marcelo Furtado and Annelise Vendramini, moderated by Niall Murphy.
As part of the launch, Morphosis premiered a short video, Introducing the Adaptation Economy, highlighting the growing cost of climate impacts and the urgent need to create smart policies and markets that can turn “the inevitable investment” into shared opportunity. Watch the full video here.
