Alongside his role as Founder and Managing Partner of Morphosis, Simon is also a member of the Club of Rome and Distinguished Fellow at the Hoffmann Centre for Global Sustainability at the Graduate Institute in Switzerland, a Senior Fellow at the Paulson Institute, a founding member of the Steering Board of the he International Advisory Panel on Biodiversity Credits, and a Senior Advisor to the Taskforce on Nature related Financial Disclosures. He was until recently the founding CEO of NatureFinance. His work over four decades has focused on shaping markets and their enabling policy environments in ways that advance sustainable development. He has worked with many of the world’s leading businesses, governments, financial regulators and civil society actors in diverse roles. He was Senior Advisor on Sustainable Finance in the Executive Office of the UN Secretary General and Senior Advisor to the World Economic Forum. He co-Chaired China’s first Green Finance Taskforce and lead the Secretariat of the G20’s work on green finance under the Chinese, Argentinian and German Presidencies. He has held positions in leading academic institutions in China, Europe, the US, and Southern Africa. He was a member of the International Advisory Board of Generation Investment Management, and the first Chair of NatureAlpha. Simon has a Ph.D is widely published including the award-winning book The Civil Corporation and most recently ‘Time to Plan for a World Beyond 1.5C”.
